I recently built-up a system with a Prescott 3.6, Abit AA8 and an Arctic Cooling Heart sink. Anytime I ran HL2 I would get a CPU overheat alarm. After experementing a bit, I noticed the rear 120mm fan seemed to be mounted backwards, I took it out to check it and found it was installed correctly. But I felt almost no air coming out the back of the case and alot of air coming from the front of the fan. The air couldn't get out of the tiny holes in the aluminum grill. I'm surprised by this serious of design flaw. I decided to get out my dremel with an abrasive cutting wheel and chop out the area in the back where the fan exhausts. It works fine with the aluminum hood that comes with the case. I immediatly got cpu temps about 20 degrees cooler than before. Has anybody else noticed this?
Check out the marvelous manual of dismantling and then piecing it all together. And yeah, I'm in the 'I liked their older stuff better' camp. I'll always appreciate my old PC-75, as I can fit anything in that beast, but my more recent PC-V1000 is extraordinarily cramped.
